PolyU’s International Research Summer School (IRSS) is a two‑week premier PhD exploratory programme designed for outstanding international senior undergraduates and Master’s students who aspire to pursue a research degree and explore future academic pathways.
Programme highlights:

- Experience the University’s vibrant campus life and advanced research facilities
- Discover interdisciplinary research opportunities and diverse PhD study options
- Enjoy enriching cultural activities in Hong Kong
- Be considered for PhD admission nomination with Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) or other scholarships (up to HK$1.7M)
- Be selected for a one‑month sponsored research mentorship with a PolyU professor following the Summer School
